Pesola stylus Force Gauge for vinyl enthusiasts
Since many years, the Vinyl-Fan-Blog of Manfred Krug provides vinyl enthusiasts with information and reviews.
In February 2020, the Vinyl-Fan-Blog tested various electronic and mechanical stylus balances. All true vinyl enthusiasts are well aware of the importance of the correct stylus force of hi-fi tonearms.
The mechanical stylus balance of Pesola (model 20010/5) provide reliable measuring results. Due to its non-magnetic Hook, the Pesola stylus balance is free from influences. The balance needs to be held by hand very steadily, which is a minor drawback. When testing, the Vinyl-Fan-Blog used a self-made construction for the measurement, which worked well with their Audio Technica tonearm. The Pesola stylus balance is the best choice in regard of the tested mechanical balances.
Pesola Spring Scale for testing the leech tension of sails
Finn tuning is very much a preference of each individual’s sailing style. Everyone has their own unique style, therefore, this is more about having a system that allows sailors to accurately reproduce your settings.
One important setting is the leech tension. Rather than measuring a mast rake in a straight line “tip of mast to transom” Dinghy Racing measure what tension would be put through the leech of the sail.

Pesola Spring Scale for testing the tensile strength of hot-air Balloon fabric
Boppart hot-air balloon from Gossau offers ballooning in Switzerland since many years. To increase the safety of ballooning, the tensile strength of the balloons’ s fabric has to be tested yearly or after each 100 hours of use.

The Koenigsberger Ladungssicherungskreis was founded in October 2000. Since then, the organization is dedicated to improve the safety on the road. Every day, trucks are transporting large amounts of loads on the streets. While transporting, different forces have an effect on the truckload. The Koenigsberger Reibklotz (Friction Block) is the ideal tool for use when loading, control on the road and training purposes. With the Friction Block a good estimation of the sliding friction coefficient can be done at spot.

PESOLA Spring Scales used at Gotthard Base Tunnel of the Swiss Federal Railways SBB
At 57 kilometers, the Gotthard Base Tunnel (GBT) is the longest railway tunnel in the world and represents the centerpiece of the New Rail Link through the Alps (NRLA).
For emergency reasons, the two parallel tunnel tubes were equipped with 4 emergency stop stations, two stop stations per tube. Further, 175 cross-passages provide a safe space and a connection to the parallel tunnel tube every 325 Meters.
With a PESOLA Spring Scale the door opening force is verified. The measurement reading should not exceed 100 Newton with constant power supply. In case of a power failure, the opening force of the emergency doors should not be higher than 250 Newton.
PESOLA supports Research and Conservation Project of the Philippine Tarsier
The Philippine tarsier (Tarsius syrichta) is one of the smallest primates in the world and it decreases in numbers due to habitat degradation, especially logging and illegal hunting. The Tarsius Project: Research and Conservation of the Philippine tarsier (Tarsius syrichta) is located in the Philippines and tries to combat the extinction of these creatures. PESOLA supported the project with a spring scale for weighing tarsiers at the Centre as well as their food.
PESOLA develops scale to measure the snow water equivalent for the SLF
The Institute for snow and avalanche research SLF in Davos Switzerland, is well known worldwide as a leading research institute in its field. The prerequisite for excellent research in the field of snow and avalanche are reliable basic data. The snow water equivalent (SWE) of freshly fallen snow belong to these basic data. The snow water equivalent is the amount of water (in Millimeter) which would arise if the snow melts. To measure the snow water equivalent is important for the science of snow hydrology and with it important for flood warnings.
To measure the snow equivalent of water, the SLF needs a SWE-scale. As existing standard measuring instruments did not meet the requirements, the SLF appointed Pesola to develop a new scale according to the technical specification.

New Courier Service integrated
The courier DHL has been integrated into the new website.
Switzerland
With immediate effect, all orders up to 30kg will be shipped by DHL Domestic for a flat rate postage and packaging of CHF 9.50 per shipment.
Outside Switzerland
Customers may choose between two options: Shipment by Post as in the past or shipment by DHL Express. The preferred courier service cam be chosen in the online shop during the ordering process. The costs for each option will be shown as during the ordering as well.
We recommend to our customers to choose the DHL shipping option. With this, the orders are continuously traceable and the transit time is much shorter. Further, corporate clients can register with their local DHL organization in order to simplify the import procedure.
Please note: independent of the chosen courier service, PESOLA ships all orders according to Incoterm DAP, as in the past. The local VAT and possible handling fees need to be paid by the receiver.
