Issue of Test Certificates for PESOLA Scales with capacities up to 50kg/500N (new or used)
Ordering a new PESOLA scale you may at the same time request the optional test certificate. For scales once delivered, PESOLA can only issue test certificates when they are sent back to the PESOLA factory. For reasons of safety and quality management it is not possible to hand in certificates for scales with hindsight without again testing them in our factory. Due to a double control-process of every single scale, you can rely on the general indication of high precision and tight tolerances listed on the product detail pages of our Homepage even without a test certificate.

Description of the Test Process at the PESOLA Factory
  • The correct function of the scale is tested. Used scales with defects are first repaired (cleaning, repair, adjustment, function control). Should we have to replace expensive components they will have to be invoiced separately.
  • A sticker with an individual certification number is attached to the scale (if not existing already).
  • After perfectly adjusting the zero position at 20±1°C, the scale is controlled with the requested calibration weights. The result of the ± measuring tolerance is precisely documented.

  • A: Spring Scales and Digital Hanging Scales
are only tested vertically. (For spring scales a testing process with drag pointer and or with pressure set assembled is not provided. In compliant use with direction of pressure rod rectangular to measuring object and minor friction in its guidance, the precision of the scale is given).
  • B: Digital platform- and pocket scales
Depending on the model we change batteries or fully charge the accumulator. We check the scale with calibration weights according to the process described in the manual.

  • The certificate is established with the individual certification number and enclosed to the scale. In this document we recommend a certain test cycle. According to intensity of use the customers may define their own quality test and certification cycle.

A: Self-Testing of PESOLA Spring Scales with capacities – 50kg by Customers (Sample)
The minimum equipment for testing is a calibrated standard hook weight at least covering half or the maximum capacity of the scale. You may consider to acquire test weights with hooks e.g. at Gottlieb Kern & Sohn GmbH, Balingen-Frommern, Germany. Local gauging offices might have such hook weights and offer the testing service.
Process
  1. Clean the spring scale and test it for correct and frictionless function. In case of defects please return the instrument to your distributor or to PESOLA AG for repair.
  2. Mark the scale with an individual calibration number.
  3. If attached remove drag pointer and or pressure set.
  4. Hang up the scale vertically.
  5. Fully charge the scale once.
  6. Adjust the zero position precisely (eyes at marker level).
  7. Attach test weight.
  8. Read result (eyes at marker level).
  9. Document the +/- deviation on a data sheet.
  10. Define your own test cycle.

B: Self-Testing of digital PESOLA Scales with capacities – 50kg by Customers (Sample)
The minimum equipment for testing is a calibrated standard hook weight at least covering half or the maximum capacity of the scale. You may consider to acquire test weights up to 500g via our e-shop or larger weights or hook weights e.g. at Gottlieb Kern & Sohn GmbH, Balingen-Frommern, Germany. Local gauging offices might have suitable hook weights and offer the testing service.
Process
  1. Clean the scale and test it for correct function. Depending on the model install new batteries or fully charge the accumulator. In case of defects please return the instrument to your distributor or to PESOLA AG for repair.
  2. Mark the scale with an individual calibration number.
  3. Acclimate the scale for an hour at approximately 20°C.
  4. Proceed according to the manual for user calibration.
  5. Document the +/- deviation on a data sheet.
  6. Define your own test cycle.
